Refund and Returns Policy

Our Policy is in complement to the Australian consumer guarantees, it does NOT replace, alter or distort your consumer guarantees which are protected by Australian Consumer Law. Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

Under the Australian Consumer Law, You are entitled to:

  • Refund or Replacement for a product or service which has a serious defect or a fault, not of acceptable quality, not fit for purpose; within 12 months from date of purchase or receipt.

The Australian Consumer Law does not cover change-of-mind returns. For this, our own voluntary return policy will apply (see “Change of Mind Returns” section below)

Complimentary Extended Warranty

Functic offers 2 year warranty policy free of charge as a part of our storewide complimentary extended warranty policy.

This extends the minimum 1 year warranty by a full year during which time any serious defect of fault with a product will be replaced or refunded.

Please note: accidental damage or regular wear and tear do not constitute a serious defect which warrants a refund or replacement. Please see the definition outlined by Fair Trading.

Change of Mind Returns

We offer change of mind return period of 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, we can’t offer you a full refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a change-of-mind return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:

  • Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
  • Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery

In such situations the approval or rejection of your return request will be judged on a case-by-case basis, please contact [email protected] if you need additional help.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale & Clearance items

Valid returns of items purchased on discount will see the return of the actual amount paid for the product. Items sold on clearance or other discontinued items cannot be refunded (returns for discontinued or clearance items as a part of Australian Consumer Guarantees will still be accepted).

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item for a change-of-mind return.

For product fault being returned under Australian Consumer Guarantees, we will provide free return shipping options; please contact [email protected]

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
